Ming was former Deputy Director of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation China Office. She oversaw policy, advocacy, and government relations functions, and many of the foundation's
programs in China, including poverty alleviation, HIV/AIDS prevention and control, water and sanitation, agriculture development, and philanthropic partnerships, in addition to a body of work on China's role in health and development for the African continent.

Before joining in Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Ming served as the Southeast Asia Representative of Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition. She served as the Director of the China office of Yew Chung Education Foundation. Ming also worked for United Nations Children's Fund.

Ming earned a Master of Medicine from Norman Bethune University of Medical Sciences and now studies in the Doctoral Program of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University.
