Ming Geng

Chairman, Aurora Care Foundation

Ms. Ming Geng has over 25 years of professional experience in global health, global development, government affairs and philanthropy. She works with leaders of governments, businesses, foundations, and non-profit organizations to develop and execute programs in health and development to improve lives in China and beyond.

From 2007 to 2019, Ming held the position of Deputy Director of the China Office for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Ming led the China Office’s policy, advocacy, and government relations team, which focuses on strategic planning and partnership in support of the foundation’s mission to promote access to health and economic opportunity for all. She oversaw multiple Gates Foundation programs in China, including poverty alleviation, HIV/AIDS prevention and control, tobacco control, nutrition, water and sanitation, agricultural development, and philanthropic partnerships, in addition to a body of work regarding China’s role in health and development for the African continent.

Before her time with the Gates Foundation, Ming spent over 10 years in leadership and management positions in global organizations, including The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition, The Yew Chung Education Foundation, and UNICEF. In her positions with these organizations’ China offices, her responsibilities included organizational strategy and operations, program strategy planning and execution, and government and partner relations.

Ming holds a medical degree at University of Norman Bethune University of Medical Sciences. Ming is a doctoral candidate in the field of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University.
