Aurora IMAGING TECHNOLOGY AppointS DA HSUAN FENG, Ph.D. OF THE University of Texas TO ADVISORY BOARD

North Andover, Mass. (April 13, 2007) – Aurora Imaging Technology, Inc., the manufacturer of the Aurora® 1.5T Dedicated Breast MRI System announced today a new member to the Aurora Advisory Board.  Da Hsuan Feng, Ph.D., Special Assistant to the President for Global Strategies and International Relations and Professor of Physics at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) has accepted the appointment.

Prior to his appointment to UTD, first as the founding Vice President for Research and Economic Development and after six years, in the current position, he was for three years Vice President of Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), a Fortune 500 defense related high technology corporation and for 22 year, the M. Russell Wehr distinguished chair professor of physics of Drexel University in Philadelphia. Dr. Feng is well versed and well known in the academic and entrepreneurial worlds.

Dr. Feng was first introduced to Aurora through the company’s chief executive officer, Olivia Ho Cheng.  As a theoretical nuclear physicist by training, he was well aware and was deeply impressed by how the “simple” nature’s physical phenomenon, nuclear magnetic resonance, was leveraged by the giants of the fields in the form of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to tackle diseases of mankind. He was even more impressed with Aurora’s total dedication to furthering the benefits of MRI imaging to tackle one of the menaces facing mankind, especially women, namely breast cancer. ”I was awed by the dedication of the company’s employees, from CEO to engineer, their dedication for future innovation to fight this disease,” said Feng.

After learning more about the company and working closely with Cheng, Dr. Feng authored the commentary “Do Well While Do Good” about Aurora and its advancements in breast MRI.  This article can be found by visiting http://utdallas.edu/research/fyi/070202/commentary.html.
“Aurora Imaging Technology is 100 percent focused on advancing the capabilities of MRI technology for use in breast imaging,” said Cheng.  “While Aurora is advancing to another era of growth, we can truly benefit from advice from world-class leaders like Dr. Feng who have extensive experience and connections in academia, research and global industry.  Dr. Feng will be a tremendous asset to Aurora and we are honored to have such a highly regarded leader join our Advisory Board.”

“Success of a company is really defined by two parameters.  The size of the market and the vision and humanity of the management.  To this end, I am most pleased and honored to be associated with Aurora, undoubtedly a most forward looking with great technology company whose domain expertise is to alleviate one of the profound sufferings of mankind in the 21st century,” said Dr. Feng.  “Under the outstanding management, led by its CEO Olivia Cheng, I am completely confident that the company will indeed ‘Do Well While Do Good!’"
